Dear Donor,
When girls gain confidence and the freedom to make choices, they begin to challenge expectations and shape their own futures. This quarter, your support helped young people across Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand turn their aspirations into action.
Breaking Barriers and Pursuing Dreams
Priti (name changed), a 20-year-old from Jharkhand, overcame family restrictions to complete an Amin course in land surveying—a profession traditionally dominated by men. Through persistence and dialogue, she gained her family's support, demonstrating how confidence and negotiation skills can challenge gender stereotypes.
Similarly, Smita (name changed), who faced family pressure to marry, pursued nursing after gaining the confidence to advocate for her future. She now works at a hospital in Bengaluru.
Building Skills and Achieving Success
Through Taaron Ki Toli, Breakthrough reached 31,630 adolescents across Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand, strengthening their confidence, leadership, and decision-making skills.
A Class 10 student from Maharajganj scored 93.16%, topping her block, and credited the programme's goal-setting and planning sessions for helping her succeed.
Challenging Menstrual Stigma
Menstrual Hygiene Day activities engaged 3,146 people across 73 Gram Panchayats in Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. Through discussions, games, and awareness activities, communities challenged myths and encouraged open conversations. The participation of men and boys reinforced that menstrual health is a shared responsibility.
Strengthening Mother-Daughter Bonds
Mother's Day celebrations across 20 Gram Panchayats in Uttar Pradesh brought together 300 people to discuss girls' education, freedom, and career choices. Mothers were encouraged to support their daughters' aspirations and independence.
Why Your Support Matters
Every girl who challenges a restriction, pursues an education, or enters a non-traditional career brings us closer to a more equal society.
Thank you for helping young people build confidence, challenge harmful norms, and create futures defined by their own choices.
