With your donations, we continue to serve children in need of speech therapy. Here is the therapy process of one of our children!
A five-and-a-half-year-old boy attended the first speech therapist assessment with his parents and they complained that he never spoke only simple words like "daddy","mom" and "I want", he did not answer his name, and he didn't understand the questions. After careful evaluation of his condition, the speech therapist suspected that he had hearing loss, and the therapist asked the parents to have a hearing test and found that Ahmet* had a moderate hearing loss of 60 decibels in the right and left ears.
During 12 sessions, Ahmet was handed two hearing aids, and the therapy started with the audio rehabilitation stages of paying attention to sound, distinguishing sounds, and distinguishing words. Then, Ahmet was trained in speech production.
After 12 sessions of rehabilitation, Ahmet can now express himself in sentences of 4 to 5 words spontaneously, understand questions by 70%, and have a 50% verbal understanding.
