We are moving forward providing water to the people of Haiti in remote North West. As you know we met our first goal of 20 cisterns. We are working on the new set of 10 in the Northwest of Haiti namely in Mawotye.
This project will build 10 4,500 gallon water cisterns in drought-ravaged town of Mawotye. People of Mawotye are very excited especially now is the season that they will collect water with rain and river flowing. we are adding 45,000 gallons more water for the families of Mawotye.
Accesibility is a key issue as there are only traces of roads leading to the area. This project has brought people together. They have cleared patches of road from the crossing of the river to the hill tops. They are volunteering to bring all materials up the hill: cement, steel frame, sand and blocks. Women have been breaking stone to facilitate the mortar for the construction of the foundation and the base.
Engineers are working with local mason to not only participate in the construction but also to learn to maintain and repair cisterns thereafter.
In its 22 years, Lambi has helped provide millions of gallons of water. Just in 2015, we help ravaged drought-ridden northwest of Haiti gather today 4500x 20 to so many families, What better way for you to partner with us to give water and give life, a cistern is really the gift that keeps on giving!
Across waters you have reached to us and we continue to help rural Haiti get closer to self-sufficient. Thanks for making it possible!
