Campaign Phase: Active Fundraising & Program Readiness
Dear GlobalGiving Community,
Thank you for your compassion and belief in education as a path out of poverty. Through American Aid (A A Relief), we support orphaned children and widowed caregivers in rural Butebo District, Uganda, where poverty reaches 35.7% and families survive on less than $2 per day. Fundraising remains in its earliest stage, and we used this quarter to strengthen readiness so we can begin delivering support as funding grows.
Progress Update (This Quarter)
This quarter, we focused on operational readiness:
Maintained coordination with community leaders and local partners to identify the most vulnerable children and caregivers. Updated beneficiary documentation mapping barriers to school attendance: missing uniforms, supplies, and hunger. Finalized a phased plan to begin with school access and nutrition, scaling to healthcare and caregiver empowerment as funding grows.
Community Need & Why This Project Matters
Families in Butebo survive on less than $2/day. Orphaned children and widowed mothers are forced to choose between food and education. Children miss school to help with farming, locking families into generational poverty. These are students with dreams—and mothers doing everything they can with almost nothing.
Program Model (What Funding Will Deliver)
School uniforms, books, and supplies Daily nutritious meals Clean water access Basic healthcare for children Skills training for widowed mothers Agricultural education for household food security
Challenges & Strategic Response
Primary Challenge: With $40 raised against a $50,000 goal, full delivery has not yet begun.
Our response: Expanding fundraising outreach, updating community need documentation, and preparing phased activation so partial funding immediately unlocks first-phase support.
Next Quarter Plan (Pending Funding)
Enroll the most vulnerable children through verified community channels. Launch initial support: school access, uniforms, supplies, and nutrition. Engage diaspora and faith-based networks to grow our fundraiser base. Report transparently on all outputs delivered.
Expected Long-Term Impact
Children stay in school and complete primary education. Nutrition improves health and learning. Widowed mothers gain income pathways and stability. A new generation of community leaders emerges—lifting Butebo out of poverty.
Closing
We are ready to begin as soon as funding increases. Your support will provide education, meals, clean water, healthcare, and empowerment for vulnerable children and widowed caregivers.
