In response to the severe cold affecting displacement camps in northern Syria, emergency winter assistance was delivered to families living in Widows Camp in Azaz. Many households in the camp lack adequate heating and winter supplies, leaving children and elderly residents exposed to harsh weather conditions.
The intervention focused on the distribution of essential heating materials to help families cope with low temperatures and reduce health risks related to the cold. Priority was given to the most vulnerable households, including widows, children, and families with limited income.
Field teams were present on-site to ensure organized and safe distribution, allowing families to receive the support they urgently needed. This assistance helped improve living conditions during a critical period and eased some of the daily challenges faced by displaced families in the camp.
Such interventions remain essential as winter conditions continue and resources remain limited. Ongoing support is required to meet basic needs and protect vulnerable families from further hardship during the cold season.
