Sponsorship of Orphan and Vulnerable Children
During the reporting period, the organization sustained its commitment to improving access to education for vulnerable children through targeted sponsorship support. A total of three learners (two boys and one girl), all enrolled in secondary school, were supported to remain in school and progress academically.
Achievements
- Successfully sponsored three secondary school students through full payment of school fees.
- Ensured 100% school attendance for all supported learners during the term.
- All beneficiaries demonstrated good academic performance.
- Strengthened follow-up and monitoring of learners’ academic progress and well-being.
Challenges
- Limited funding restricted the number of beneficiaries that could be supported despite high demand from other vulnerable children.
- Some learners faced minor scholastic challenges due to limited access to additional learning materials and home study support.
Lessons Learned
- Consistent and timely payment of school fees is critical in ensuring uninterrupted learning and improved academic performance.
- Regular follow-up with learners and schools enhances accountability and helps identify academic or social challenges early.
- There is a growing need to complement tuition support with scholastic materials and mentorship to further improve outcomes.
Success Story
One of the supported students, a secondary school boy who was previously at risk of dropping out due to lack of school fees, was able to remain in school throughout the term. With consistent attendance and renewed focus on his studies, he showed remarkable improvement in his academic performance. His teachers reported increased participation in class and a positive change in attitude towards learning. This support not only kept him in school but also restored his confidence and hope for a better future.

Quarterly Report

CCUg has been sponsoring 15 students from Mayuge and Jinja Districts. Funding from Waterloo ended last year and we remained with only three children. In this quarter we were blessed with another individual donor who has enabled us to sponsor more eight children and of these, 6 are in primary and two in Secondary, this gives us a total number of 13 children, 5 in secondary and 6 in Primary. In the first quarter, we were able to pay for the 3 boys in secondary and the eight will start their sponsorship in second term. All their fees were paid and the parents also fulfilled their required financial obligations towards the cost of educating their children.
Activities /Achievements
- All Children’s fees was paid and are in school.
- All children were monitored to check on their school progress and they were all progressing well. School reports at the end of term showed improved performance.

Mid year Report

Community Concerns Uganda Initiative (CCUg) sponsors 15 students from Mayuge and Jinja Districts and all these children come from vulnerable households. All their fees were paid and the parents also fulfilled their required financial obligations towards the cost of educating their children.
We have 4 students in Waitambogwe Secondary School, 3 in Wakitaka Secondary, 2 in Lwanda High, 2 in Butiki College, 1 in New Hope Secondary, 1 in St. Francis Buluba,1 in Lake View S S and 1 in Hill Side SS.
These students are happily studying without being chased away from school due to lack of schoolfees as it was before.
Activities /Achievements
- The parents/guardians were given a capital injection to boost their businesses, enabling them to continue supporting their children once the grant for sponsorship ends.
- All children were monitored to check on their school progress and they were all progressing well. School reports at the end of term showed improved performance.
