Give support to 1,000 Ukrainian orphaned-children

Thanks to the generosity of individual donors and the support of GlobalGiving, this project became possible. Between November 6 and December 15, people from around the world chose to stand with adolescents and young people from vulnerable backgrounds in Ukraine — and their trust turned into real support on the ground.

With this support, we continued providing psychosocial, educational, and developmental assistance to adolescents and youth from vulnerable categories, including those living in institutional care. Your contributions helped us create safe spaces where young people could learn essential life skills, receive emotional support, and feel seen and valued.

The project is implemented in the Zakarpattia region in cooperation with local partners and institutions. Its goal is to help adolescents and youth become more confident, emotionally resilient, and socially responsible, while developing practical skills that support their transition into adulthood.

During this reporting period, the project exceeded several planned targets.
More than 317 adolescents and young people developed skills in effective communication, teamwork, responsible leadership, critical thinking, and self-awareness — 106% of the planned indicator. Notably, 134 participants were adolescents and youth living in institutional care, where access to such opportunities is often limited.

Preparing young people for the future was another key focus. 336 participants gained knowledge about artificial intelligence and the role of humans in the future world, learned how to build healthy and responsible relationships, and improved their financial literacy and personal development planning skills — 112% of the planned target. Among them, 138 participants were from institutional settings.

Psychological support remained a critical component of the project. During the reporting period, 14 group psychological sessions were conducted (70% of the planned number), including 7 groups held directly in institutional facilities. These sessions helped participants better understand their emotions, cope with stress, and strengthen their emotional resilience.

In addition, 15 non-formal education activities were implemented (75% of the plan), 8 of them in institutional settings, using interactive and participatory methods that encourage engagement, peer learning, and practical application of knowledge.

One of the most important outcomes is the project’s reach and depth. Updated monitoring data confirms strong engagement of unique participants, showing that the project is not just a series of one-time activities, but meaningful ongoing support for young people who need stability and guidance.

Despite ongoing challenges related to the broader context in Ukraine, adolescents and young people continue to demonstrate motivation, curiosity, and a strong desire to grow. For many, this project is a rare space where they feel safe to speak openly, be heard, and imagine a future with more opportunities.

We are deeply grateful to each of you who has contributed to our project on GlobalGiving. Thanks to your generosity, we are now able to plan concrete steps to support adolescents and young people who are in great need of assistance.

Up until now, we have not launched activities within this project, as there were initially not enough funds to implement it fully. However, your donations have changed this situation — we now have sufficient resources to begin.

We have already planned that the available funds will be directed towards implementing a program of non-formal education, along with psychological and psychoeducational activities for adolescents and young people in the Dnipropetrovsk region. This is a community where we see a particularly high need for such support, given the challenges that young people are facing.

In our next report, we will share concrete results with you: what activities we carried out, how many participants were engaged, and how this experience has influenced their lives and emotional well-being. We believe that with your help, we can create a safe space where young people gain not only knowledge but also confidence and encouragement for their future.
