By Sanjit Kumar Das Mohapatra | Project Manager

Daily Activities
Daily Activities

At our Old Age Home apart from the basic facilities such as food, healthcare, shelter and clothes we also organize a number of recreational activities for the residents for their all-round development and to ensure that their daily lives does not become monotonous and they feel more like home at their new home. The recreational activities are included in their daily schedule as well as some activities are organized from time to time at regular intervals. The Daily activities include:

  • Morning Yoga sessions
  • Morning and evening walks
  • Newspaper reading
  • Watching Television
  •  Social Interaction with the Caregivers, doctors, nurses and other staff.

However, many recreational activities are organised from time to time along with Individuals and Corporates. Many individuals visit the Ashram regularly and meet our residents and our elderly also developed very strong bonds. They always feel happy with the interaction of visitors.  These visitors include School and college Students, Corporates, Social Trusts and clubs. School and College students visit fosters the spirit of both the young and experienced souls. We organise Special Activities such with our Visitors for resident elderly and the list of activities are:

  • Painting
  • Colouring
  • Card Making
  • Diya Making
  • Kulhad(earthen pot) Painting
  • Group dancing and singing

These activities play a very important role in the lives of the elderly not only by providing them mental peace and satisfaction by keeping their minds away from all their suffering prior to coming here but also keep them physically and mentally engaged and thus improving their overall wellbeing and enables us to fulfil our goal of bringing a smile on their face. Because in the end its their smile that worth all the effort and also laughter helps them age backwards.
