Give Marginalized Youth a Voice

Write Our World has been going through a season of program growth, opportunity and publicity to close out the 2019 year.

Programming: 

We have been busy programming at Aurora Public Schools, Horizons at Colorado Academy, Alicia Sanchez International School and Kiana International School.  Teachers have been trained and eBooks are currently in the process of being created.  

Funding:

In the spring of 2019, Write Our World received a grant from the Junior League to create, develop and implement programs with a Family and Community Engagement focus.  We have a committee who is currently creating a standard curriculum outlining the learning objectives and goals for this program and plan to implement it across 2 schools in the Denver area in 2020. 

Write our World has also secured a sponsorship from Book Creator and Julie Carey, Write Our World's founder, was highlighted in a blog post, found here: WOW Blog Post on Book Creator

Publicity:

We also had the opportunity to participate in the CoTESOL conference in Denver, CO on November 8th & 9th, giving a keynote address and providing a workshop for eager educators looking for unique ways to engage their bilingual students. 

Lastly, Julie was featured on KGNU in a Radio Interview talking about the journey of Write Our World and the benefits this organization has on bilingual youth worldwide. 

In 2020 we are focusing on restructuring our membership to allow more access to books and provide more opportunities for youth, educators and families to access content on our website. Stay tuned for these updates in 2020!
