Through four new key partnerships, Write Our World has been able to expand its network of authors and bring exciting new programs to life!
Over 75 new kids joined our community of young authors through three new educational partnerships around the Denver area. In the northwest, immigrant students at Alicia Sanchez International School in Lafayette, Colorado, created ebooks in an after school literacy program. To the east, the Aurora Welcome Center Summer Camp guided 60 K-8 students from a wide variety of countries to share their identities through bilingual ebooks during a program at Paris Elementary. In the south, Horizons at Colorado Academy, guided 14 bilingual 4th graders in sharing their stories. We are so grateful to have their voices added to our library and can't wait to read their submissions!
We are also extremely honored to have been among the small, select group of Denver nonprofits to be awarded a Literacy Grant by the Junior League of Denver to celebrate its 100th Anniversary! Through this financial partnership, we are developing an original Write Our World Intergenerational Storytelling Program to bring to two elementary Denver Public Schools in 2020.
As always, thanks for being such vital members of our team through your generous support!
