C2C clinics are "one stop shop" facilities: patients can access doctor and nurse consultations, lab testing, and a fully stock pharmacy--all in one place. However, one of our clinics does not have the proper automated hematology analyzer that we need in order to run lab tests efficiently and provide the high standard of care our patients deserve. Please support our GlobalGiving project and provide a Sysmex machine for this clinic! Your gift will support direct medical care for our patients.
According to the WHO, only 23% of Haitians live within 5km of a good quality primary care facility. Furthermore, clinics are often in separate locations from labs and pharmacies which means patients must travel great distances, often by foot or motorbike on dangerous roads. Labs are often run inefficiently and testing can take a very long time when done by hand, which wastes precious time that patients must wait before getting their diagnosis and treatment they need.
C2C clinics are one stop shops for primary care. This means that in one visit, a patient can have a doctor consultation, receive lab tests, and get the medications they need in the same day. Our lab is critical to delivery high-quality care. Without a hematology analyzer at one of our clinics, the process of running lab tests is much slower and less efficient. A new Sysmex machine will mean patients get the treatment they need quicker without having to wait for manual tests.
Having an automated hematology analyzer means C2C can see more patients annually and that more people in the region we serve can access the care they need quicker. They do not have to wait to receive their diagnoses and they can get the treatment they need, when they need it. Lab equipment is essential to saving lives through our primary care model. We hope you will consider our project and help us deliver the care that Haitians deserve!
