Empowerment Through Dignity on Women's Day

Summary: This Women’s Day, we didn't just celebrate progress; we took a practical step toward it. Thanks to your support, we distributed reusable sanitary kits and provided essential hygiene education to our girls, ensuring that no girl at Another Hope has to miss a single day of school due to her period.

A Special Guest for a Special Day

We were honored to have our long-term friend, Aunt Macy, join us for the distribution. Her presence transformed a simple hand-out into a powerful mentorship moment. Aunt Macy led a series of hygiene lessons, teaching the girls not just how to care for their new kits, but how to care for themselves with confidence and dignity.

Why This Matters

For many of our girls, a lack of menstrual supplies is a silent barrier to education. In Uganda, girls can lose up to 20% of their school year because they lack the resources to manage their cycles.

The Solution: The reusable pads you provided are a sustainable, 12-month solution.
The Impact: Because of you, these girls can stay in the classroom, keep up with their brothers, and chase their dreams without shame.

A Message from the Heart

Seeing Aunt Macy participate in this activity, sharing wisdom and laughter, reminded us that "Holistic Well-being" is about more than supplies—it’s about the community standing behind these children. One of our students shared, "I used to worry about that time of the month, but now I feel ready and supported."

Looking Forward

As I (Ruth) prepare for my upcoming surgery on May 6th, seeing the strength of our community and the success of this project gives me immense peace. Our team and friends like Aunt Macy are ensuring that the work never stops.

Progress Report: GIVE A MENSTRUATION KIT TO KEEP A GIRL IN SCHOOL

We are thrilled to share an update on our project, GIVE A MENSTRUATION KIT TO KEEP A GIRL IN SCHOOL, through which we are working to empower teenage girls in Kampala, Uganda, by ensuring they can manage their menstrual hygiene with dignity and continue their education without interruption.

Your generosity has been instrumental in helping us reduce school absenteeism and illiteracy, and has directly contributed to the long-term goal of economic empowerment for these young women. We are so grateful for the contributions that have brought us closer to our total goal of $5,245.

Donor Appreciation

We are incredibly thankful to all 11 donors who have contributed to this project, helping us raise $3,766 towards our goal.

Confirmed Activity in 2023

A significant pad distribution was successfully conducted at the school.
This activity was an important part of our ongoing work to provide students with essential menstrual hygiene supplies.

Looking Ahead: Plans for the First Quarter of Next Year

Building on the foundation we have set, we are excited to outline our immediate next steps to further expand the reach and impact of this vital work.

In the first quarter of next year, we plan to visit three schools. During these visits, we will conduct reproductive health awareness talks and distribute 90 re-usable pads to the girls, providing them with sustainable solutions and crucial health education.
