Empowering Girls Through Education

Dear Donor,

El Shaddai’s programme, “Give a Girl the Chance to Learn and Thrive,” focuses on giving vulnerable and disadvantaged girls the opportunity to access education, develop confidence, and build a brighter future. For girls growing up in poverty and challenging circumstances, education can open doors to opportunities that may otherwise remain out of reach.

During the reporting period, El Shaddai continued supporting girls from vulnerable communities by helping them overcome barriers to education. Support includes encouragement to attend school regularly, educational materials, school essentials, nutritious meals, healthcare, guidance, and individual care. By addressing some of the practical challenges families face, girls are given a better opportunity to remain in school and continue learning.

Education provides girls with knowledge and skills that can influence their future choices. Through regular schooling, girls develop literacy, numeracy, communication, problem-solving abilities, and a greater understanding of the world around them. They are encouraged to participate in their education, ask questions, express their ideas, and discover their individual strengths and interests.

The programme also recognises that helping a girl thrive means supporting more than her academic development. El Shaddai provides opportunities for girls to participate in sports, creative activities, life-skills sessions, awareness programmes, and other activities that encourage confidence and positive development. Through friendship, mentoring, encouragement, and a safe environment, girls are supported to believe in themselves and recognise their potential.

El Shaddai also works with parents, caregivers, schools, and community networks to encourage families to value and prioritise girls’ education. Regular communication and follow-up help identify difficulties that may affect school attendance or learning, allowing appropriate support to be provided. By working together with families and communities, we aim to create an environment where girls are encouraged to stay in school and pursue their dreams.

Through this programme, El Shaddai aims to create lasting opportunities for girls to learn, grow, and thrive. We want every girl to have the chance to develop her abilities, make informed choices, and look towards her future with confidence and hope. Education can help a girl understand that her circumstances do not define her potential.

Giving a girl the chance to learn is giving her the chance to discover what she can achieve. When she is supported with education, encouragement, and opportunities, she can grow in confidence and begin to imagine a future filled with possibilities. Our goal is to help girls move beyond the limitations created by poverty and create pathways towards dignity, independence, and a better future.Give every girl the opportunity to learn, grow in confidence, discover her potential, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Every Girl Promoted: School Year Filled with Hope

Dear Supporters and Friends,

Warm greetings from El Shaddai!

We are delighted to share wonderful news with you. All of the girls in our care have completed their assessments, and every one of them from formal, non-formal and slum schools has been promoted to the next grade with good marks. This achievement reflects their determination, hard work, and the nurturing environment that your generous support has made possible.

At El Shaddai, we believe every child deserves a safe place to grow, learn, and dream. For many of the girls who come to us from the streets and slum communities of Goa, El Shaddai is more than a shelter; it is a home filled with love, security, and hope. Here, they discover not only the opportunity to receive an education but also the comfort of belonging to a family.

Life at El Shaddai is built on care, responsibility, and community. The girls support one another like sisters, with the older children encouraging and guiding the younger ones. Through shared daily routines, study time, and household responsibilities, they learn teamwork, compassion, leadership, and respect, values that will stay with them throughout their lives.

As the new academic year begins, we have ensured that every girl is fully prepared to continue her education without interruption. Thanks to your generosity, each child has received a complete set of school essentials, including uniforms, school bags, textbooks, notebooks, and stationery. These simple but essential items allow our children to begin the school year with confidence, dignity, and excitement.

Beyond academics, the girls continue to flourish in many ways. They actively participate in cultural programs, sports, creative activities, and daily responsibilities that help build confidence, discipline, and resilience. Every day, we witness remarkable growth as these young girls become capable, compassionate, and determined young women.

When you visit El Shaddai, you see children who smile freely, ask questions with curiosity, and dream boldly about their future. Their laughter has replaced fear, and their confidence has replaced uncertainty. Your support has reached far beyond providing education, it has brought stability, healing, and renewed hope into their lives.

None of this would have been possible without your generosity and belief in our mission. Because of your partnership, vulnerable girls are not only succeeding in school but also building brighter futures filled with opportunity and purpose.
