Dear friends and supporters
So much has happened since we reported last, both good and bad. We will start with the good news first!
Thanks to all your generous support during GlobalGiving's Little by Little Campaign in April, we raised $1727 in a matter of days. We appreciate each and everyone one of you for your support. Thank you.
At the end of January, two of our MAA heroes, Fanny and Zak, ran an ACTUAL marathon in Marrakech to raise funds for a new rescue car. Our MAA team cheered them on from the sidelines as they proudly ran through the streets of Marrakech with MAA flags wrapped around their bodies. Although we didn't reach our funding goal, we will be back next year with more runners, spreading the word about protecting Moroccan street animals.
Thanks to your generous donations over the past few months, we have been able to provide food and shelter to the 600 animals in our care (yes, our numbers keep rising). Although our capacity and resources are limited, we made a commitment to the animals and people in our community, and we will never stop fighting for them.
We also were able to respond to emergencies and rescue dozens of dogs and cats with your help. Such as PM847 and DM849, two precious pups, victims of separate car accidents, who both have suffered broken legs and required vet consultations and x-rays to assess their injuries and provide treatment. Or the beautiful CF848 who arrived with trauma to her eye. She’s undergone eye removal surgery to alleviate her pain and discomfort. Your support ensured she received the care she needs to heal and thrive!
Thanks to the generosity of our GlobalGiving community, we have also been able to help so many ohter animals in need such as K902, K903, K904 three abandoned kittens without a mum... or PM899 who came to us with an unjured back leg, and the cute CM909 who had a car accident and had painful injuries to his back legs.
It is thanks to your financial support that we are in a position to continue to respond to these emergencies!
We really need your continued support as recently we have been threathened with eviction in our main shelter location. On top of the daily emergencies we are dealing with every day, we now need to urgently build a new main shelter. We are doing everything we can do work with local authorities to acquire new land and are seeking legal support to make sure the animals in our care as well as our team remain safe and sound.
We look forward to share more with you soon. And once again, thank you for being here.
