SkillsHub gives out of school young people in Zambia the practical skills, confidence and coaching they need to build their own futures, with an emphasis on reaching young women and refugees. This unique programme combines remedial Maths and English, vocational and employability training, mindset development and real workplace opportunities. Together, these equip young people with the skills and confidence to pursue sustainable work, enterprise and greater independence.
For many out of school young people in Zambia, potential does not automatically translate into opportunity. Poverty, incomplete education and entry requirements can put vocational training out of reach, while limited foundational skills, confidence and exposure to career pathways create further barriers. The challenge goes beyond learning a trade: young people need the skills, confidence and opportunities to turn their ambition into sustainable work and greater independence.
SkillsHub removes barriers keeping young people from progressing. Participants strengthen Maths and English and develop their mindset before training in areas linked to employment opportunities in Zambia, including mechanics, construction, electrical work, agriculture, hospitality, fashion and cosmetology. Employability support and placements with local employers build experience, networks and pathways into employment, further training or enterprise. Your donation helps make this possible.
SkillsHub creates change that continues long after training ends. Early results show 98% participant retention, confidence rising from 5.8 to 8.6/10, and 365 workplace attachments across 116 employers. As young people move into work, further education or enterprise, greater economic independence can strengthen families and create opportunities for others. Over time, SkillsHub aims to build a generation able to shape their own futures and contribute to Zambia's social and economic development.
