This project will give 300 rural Zimbabwean children a quality education and a brighter future. Breakfast, Masuwe and Sekebelo Primary Schools are severely under-resourced. Full classroms where teachers often instruct multiple grades in the same classroom. Basic education materials are severely lacking. Parents cannot afford to pay school fees and the few teachers often work unpaid for months. Help us provide the support and basic necessities to give these children an education - and a future.
The communities where these schools are, are on the outskirts of Victoria Falls and do not have access to a government school. In response to this, these rural communities set up these schools to help serve the communities. These schools do not receive government funding. Rural communities rely on subsistence farming for survival and cannot afford the school fees to keep the school running. The school, therefore, cannot provide the necessary learning materials to effectively teach the children.
Funds raised through this project will cover the purchase of essential learning materials such as books, stationery and uniforms. The purchasing of these learning materials such as exercise books, writing and colouring materials as well as textbooks will give the students the chance to expand their knowledge effectively as well as giving them the chance and ability to take class notes home with them on subjects such as Math, English, Geography and Conservation to name a few.
The long term impact is to equip these schools with the essential learning materials to conduct effective educational practices which aim to further the knowledge and education of these children who can then go on to gain employment - breaking the cycle of poverty.
