Our youth stand side by side with youth all over the country speaking out against antiquated gun laws. They are writing letters to legistators, writing to newspapers, talking with their parents and talking to their peers. In our community here in Chicago, gun violence has become commonplace. We don't accept it, but too often our voices are silenced and our cries go unheard. We welcome any and all attention to and protests against guns. We all want safe communities for our children in school, on the playground, on the bus, walking home or on their very own porch.
The youth in our after school programs will follow their actions closely and participate in local activities here in Chicago. We are organizing other youth to participate in the National School Walkout March 14 and the March for Our lives on March 24. YOUTH POWER!!!
