Girls in flood-affected rural areas of Pakistan often miss education and income opportunities because of poverty, disasters, and lack of local training centers. This project will establish a Girls Skills Academy in Village Sehjra, Kasur, where young women can learn practical skills such as tailoring, embroidery, beauty services, and handicrafts. The academy will help them earn from home, support their families, and build stronger futures.
In flood-affected rural areas like Sehjra in Kasur, girls have very limited access to education, skills training, and income opportunities. Repeated floods damage homes, crops, and livelihoods, forcing families to focus on survival. Because technical institutes are far away, and transport costs and social barriers restrict mobility, many girls leave education early and remain unemployed and financially dependent.
This project will establish a Girls Skills Academy in Village Sehjra, Kasur, where girls from flood-affected families can safely learn practical skills close to home. Training in tailoring, embroidery, beauty services, handicrafts, and basic business skills will help them earn income from home, support their families, and build confidence, independence, and resilience in a disaster-prone community.
In the long term, this project will help girls in flood-affected areas become skilled, confident, and financially independent. With practical training and home-based income opportunities, they will be better able to support their families and continue their personal development. The project will also strengthen household resilience, reduce poverty, and promote a more secure and hopeful future for girls in vulnerable rural communities.
