140 women / caregivers turned up and benefitted from the activity. 3 women church leaders, 2 Police officers, 4 clan leaders, and women representatives in local government were invited to participates; the key note was on the issues of marriage, family and child upbringing. At the end of the conference, two women testified; one said that she adopted a Karamojong child despite being a non- Karamojong, just felt within herself a leading to adopt a child which is now taking care of and she is happy with her decision.
While listening to the testimonies one participant promised to commit her to protect a girl child. That she got married to a man who messed up her life and all that she had a cumulated and went away with other women.
After sometime, when the man saw that she had stabilized in her business, he came back and did exactly the same. She was discouraged and never wanted to see the man again despite being a father to her children.
She feels encouraged to move on with life and help other girls and young women recover.
