Remembering the project:
The Girls in Science and Technology Project promotes opportunities for girls in public schools to get involved in science and technology, with the aim of inspiring and stimulating vocations. Aimed at students aged 12 to 18, it offers workshops, classes, excursions and lectures, culminating in tournaments and technological art exhibitions. It seeks to develop creativity, technological perception and identify talents to support them by preparing them for the job market.
In recent months, project participants have carried out various activities, these are some of them:
The students from the Girls in Science and Technology project participated in the Brazilian Rocket Show, which consists of a practical competition in which teams of up to 3 apprentices are divided into 5 categories of different levels, according to the grade in which they are enrolled. The competition is aimed at elementary and high school students. The activity was a moment of concentration and learning, where competitors were able to apply in practice the Physics and Engineering concepts studied in the classroom. In earnest, each team prepared their rockets, ensuring they were ready for launch. We will await the results with great anticipation! Let's take off together!
Highlight: Project student holds 46 Olympic medals
Gabriely di Folco Rocha, 17 years old, has always identified with mathematics. “It was where I found myself and was able to communicate with people as a child,” he says. Encouraged by her parents, the student accumulated 46 medals in scientific Olympiads in different disciplines, and went on to some of the best universities in the world.
Participation in events:
The girls also participated in a series of enriching activities at the Tech Challenges event. They followed the last phase of the robotics olympics. These competitions not only challenged their technical capabilities but also promoted teamwork and real-time problem solving.
One of the highlights of the event was watching the Robotics Olympics, part of the Tech Challenges. In this high-level competition, teams of young people from various regions demonstrated their skills in robotics, programming and engineering. The girls closely observed the strategies, innovations and solutions presented by the teams, which served as additional inspiration for their own journeys in the world of technology.
Participating in this multifaceted event provided the girls with a rich and diverse experience, broadening their horizons and strengthening their interest in the field of STEM.
