Description: Girl Stars are extraordinary tales of ordinary girls who have changed their lives by going to school. A set of 15 books with 15 real stories that create icons of everyday girls and inspire young girls age 10-16 in India to go to school and complete their education. Girl Stars is a Going to School creation supported by UNICEF, India.
Target Audience: Girls age 10-16 in India
Distribution of books
Girl Stars books were sent to schools several government schools and schools supported by non-profit organizations in Delhi and Bihar.
In Delhi the books were sent to Mahila Kalpana Shakti Trust, an organization working with girls in South-Eastern parts of Delhi.
Girl Stars books were also sent to Mahila Samakhya, a non-profit organization in Bihar (a north Indian state). Mahila Samakhya provides education, vocational skills training and employment opportunities to young girl and women in 13 districts in the state.
