Greetings from BREADS Bangalore! Once again we are coming to you with our latest achievements of our intervention for educating the less privileged girl children supported by you through GlobalGiving Platform!
The 144 poor girl children supported under this project are continuing their formal education in the schools in North Karnataka region. The 12 children are undergoing the remedial education from our child labour rehabilitation centres in order to get them readmitted to formal schools. We have extended our support for two more children who were rescued from child labour for this reporting period
The children are regularly followed up by Don Bosco/BREADS staff in order to ensure their continuity in schools and improved education standard. Once in a month we organize meetings for the children in their localities in order to impart life skill training, personality development and group building sessions. The children will also share their experiences during these monthly get together meetings. In the month of November we had organized children’s day and Diwali celebration for the children with colorful events and programmes. The children were happy and enjoyed the occasion which also gave them opportunity to exhibit their talents and creativity.
The children are very happy and known very well about the GlobalGiving platform. The funds received from GlobalGiving are entirely used for the education of the children. The money is mainly used for education fees, uniform and dresses, nutritious foods, stationery and reading materials. Few of the children were supported for medical care also. The children are contented as they are now enjoying their childhood. All the children are good in studies and we are giving special attention to the slow learners by imparting guided studies in our evening tuition centres.
