Dear Donors,
Greetings from BREADS Bangalore! We are happy to come once again with latest news of our project supported by you through GlobalGiving Platform!
With your support about 144 poor girl children are continuing their formal education in rural schools in North Karnataka region. Another 10 children are undergoing the remedial education from our child labour rehabilitation centres in order to get them readmitted to formal schools.
BREADS and the children are grateful to you and GlobalGiving platform for supporting the poor girl children who were once child labourers and denied their rights of childhood and education. Your support was exclusively used for the education and development of the girl children. Formerly all of them were child labourers: majority of them working in agriculture fields, garages, and seed crossing industries, brick industries and mines.
In our four centres the children are staying and attending in the regular classes. We have been giving supplementary classes in the evening, helping them to do their homework/school assignments. Special attention is being given to the children who are slow learners. The children are also taught life skill subjects in order to overcome their trauma experiences, inhibitions and mental stress.
The support and partnership with GlobalGiving is a great support for us to reach the needy and vulnerable girl children with education, health and development services for their integral growth.
