Report Dear Donors,

Greetings from BREADS Bangalore! We hope you are enjoying your summers and are keeping cool during the heat waves.

Thanks to your donations 144 girls who went through the BREADS child labour rehabilitation centers have now been admitted to mainstream schools (30 in Hospet, 20 in Deodurga,12 in Yadagiri, 36 in Davanger, Bidar 10 and 36 in Gulbarga)!

We wish to share with you the story of one such girl, Priya (name changed). Coming from a poor back- ground, her family migrated to another district in order to find work in a coffee estate. Priya was left at her aunt’s house where she received improper care and stopped attending school to work for money. After having been identified by our staff she was brought to Don Bosco Suprabha. At present she is attending the Resi- dential Bridge course and is placed in 5th standard. She is intelligent and is interested in studying. She is also talented and enjoys taking part cultural activities with her friends. Right now her father is sick and unable to go to work. Her mother and her elder sister are working in a coffee estate to support the family. If due care and support is given, Priya will flourish.

With all thanks and gratitude, we would also like to share with you that our BREADS Bangalore’s project – “Educate 100 Rescued Girl Child Labourers” (CLICK HERE) has qualified as one of the projects supported by GlobalGiving and as such will be participating in Microsoft’s YouthSpark Global Giving promotion. On June 25th from 12 noon EST, they will match 100% of your donation (CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO)

We wish you and your families all the best!

Warmly,
Father Joy Nedumparambil SDB
