Dear Donors,
Greetings from BREADS Bangalore!
We are happy to state that 144 less privileged children are being continued their education with the support from you through GlobalGiving. The children are in final stage of their academic classes and preparing to attend the annual examinations. These 144 girl children are going to complete one more year of school education without any stress on school fees, with beautiful and neat dresses, uniforms, with necessary books and other education materials. All these were realized only through generous assistance from the valuable donors through the platform of GlobalGiving the children supported by are the rescued child labourers and school dropouts. From December 2017 to February 2018 we have lots of programmes for the children in different Don Bosco Institutions along with their regular coaching in schools. The following are the programmes conducted during the reporting period
Christmas Celebration
During the month of December the children enjoyed and participated the day for Christmas. All Don Bosco Institutions organized Christmas eves where the children were provided with special food and gifts. The children exhibited their talents and creativity by participate various programmes like dance, songs, skits, etc.
Republic day celebration
January 26 is the republic day of India. In all the schools where the children are studying have special programmes where the children actively participated
Children’s Gramasabha
Children’s gramasabha ( the participation of children in the decision making process of local government) was organized in many places where the children have the opportunity to participate, raise their concerns, questions the low quality of school facilities, education standard, etc. Through these Gramashabas the children were empowered to participate and involve in the promotion of child rights.
During this reporting period we received USD 1267.00 from global giving for the project which was used for the education, food, clothes and education materials of the poor girl children.
The children are regularly followed up by Don Bosco/BREADS staff in order to ensure their continuity in schools and improve education standard. The children were motivated to join the evening tuition classes started in their villages by BREADS and use the facility to improve their education standard and do the school assignment with the help of mentors.
The support from the donors through GlobalGiving platform was helped 144 poor and marginalized girl children to continue their education and excel in their future life. If they were denied this opportunity they may end up with early marriage, child labour and illiterate. The children are happy and expressing gratitude to all the donors and well-wishersof GlobalGiving.
BREADS thankfully acknowledge the valuable support through GlobalGiving which helped the poor girl children to have a brighter future.
Thank you for all
