Project Karigari – provides youth & women with livelihood options through various vocational training in the areas, based on beneficiaries’ preferences and aptitude. Under Karigari 150,000 youth and women have been trained during year across India. Literacy India has turned 25 this year and since inception our primary beneficiaries have been Girl Child, Young Girls and Women. Scores of Successes in gender equality has been due to overwhelming response from them. United Nation`s SDG 2030 Treaty wherein 17 nations including India signing up in later years confirmed our work in this area before SDG came in force. However recent setback due to Pandemic demands aggressive work in creating livelihood options specially for Youth and Women. We firmly believe that if we “Empower one Women we help not only her Family which includes health and education of her children we in turn empower the entire community.
e-tutor is tutoring system which aims to create a virtual teaching and learning environment that suits today's trend & Post Covid this initiative have created vital role in educating rural children. Literacy India E tutor project empowers CCC/CCA pass out trainees to become Community E-tutor using technology intervention to become a pioneer in providing a quality education. It infuses the modernity in education systems, thus, creating a E Tutors help students. The Gyantantra software help teachers to be more effective and improve the quality of the education by increasing Students participation, Self-explanatory lessons and develop cognitive skills of children.

There is strong evidence of positive outcomes for ICT training by e-tutors, associated with ICT based Initiatives in rural and remote area. The association of these e-tutors with project initiatives activated participants, and promoted their educational, social skills using this educational software contents and enhanced the community engagement. Technology has re-defined the primary Education and learning outcome using Gyantantra Digital Dost.

STORIES OF IMPACT
Name Maity ( Name changed) Age : 22 Location : West Bengal
Maity( Name Changed) lives in Block Bagmundi, Purulia in West Bengal. Her father is a Farmer and her mother is a housewife. Maity ( Name Changed) completed her graduation in 2020 and a few months ago she was offered a contractual government job as a VRP (Village Resource Person). She is also running an e-tuition program with the help of Literacy India.
Let’s rewind and take a look at Maity’s ( Name Changed) journey. One day, Maity ( Name Changed) along with a friend came to Literacy India’s Lowakui center and applied for a computer course (CCA). She was enthusiastic and committed to studying. Within 6 months, with the help of her teacher, she had an excellent grasp of the skills.
The staff at Literacy India were impressed by her motivation and willingness to work. They gave her a computer set to start an e-tuition program. Through this program, CCA beneficiaries have been teaching GDD and basic computer knowledge to the children at their homes in rural areas with minimum tuition fees. Maity ( Name Changed) started e-tuition with approximately 20 students and earns Rs.2000/- to Rs.2500/- per month. Recently, she has also started a contractual government job at Matha Gram Panchayat as a VRP (Village Resource Person).
