Guided Path into the Future
Literacy India ( since 1996 as a non-profit organization had been educating underprivileged women and children, and empowering them to become self-reliant and employable. It can rightly be synonymized with three very powerful words: Education, Empowerment, and Employment.
At Literacy India, Vidyapeeth is a core program running with an aim to make the quality education accessible and affordable to the underserved. It runs classes up to high school like any other schools. Students are provided holistic education using learning by doing approach and the beneficiaries of the program are from the lowest social and economic strata of the society, and many of them are even the first generation learners.
While making quality education available to the marginalized children, is at the core of Literacy India’s mission, but Literacy India aims to go beyond just providing a basic education like any other school therefore it provides the education with the purpose i.e. Education that could help in making the youth employable which is the utmost need of the society.
Career Oriented Program: Radiology Technician
Under the course of Radiology Technician, Technicians are trained to use advanced radiographic equipment such as CT Scan (Computed Tomography), MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) along with basic X-Ray equipment for creating images of a patient’s internal anatomy. These images are used by doctors and specialists in diagnosis of illnesses and injuries.
In the current market, there is a huge demand for Radiology Technicians in India. Hence, Radiology Technician training has been taken into the consideration by the organisation in training youth to have them an access to employment opportunities.
Under this course, students are trained to a proficiency level wherein they are able to comply with safety regulations involved in the use of radiography equipment while on the job. After the completion of Radiology Technician course, these individuals are awarded with ‘Radiology Technician’ certificate and opens the future job prospects for them.
Career Growth: Radiology Technician
Radiology Technicians have huge job prospects, they receive a steady pay check, and have a long-term career. There has been a huge development in past few years toward the advancement of the radiology career ladder. After completing the VIVO Radiology Technician course, certified individuals start their careers as Junior X-Ray Techs / CT Scan / MRI Techs and then moves to the position of Senior Technician, and Asst. Technical Assistants /Application Specialists. Further from the position of Asst. Technical Assistants or Application Specialists they are provided with an opportunity to take up the role of ‘Technical Assistants’ and later to the senior most position of ‘Radiology Technician in Charge’.

Aanjana (Name Changed) -Pursuing X-ray Technician Course
Aanjana (Name changed) has been under Literacy India for more than 7 years . Her journey with Literacy India incepted since her VI standard on enrolling under LI’s Vidyapeeth school program. Since then she has always been found hardworking, sincere and competent for studies and exhibited the high achiever performance.
She is a girl with persistent attitude, never gives up on things but looks for opportunities around to grow in life. Post completing her high school, she enrolled under LI’s Gurukul program for further education where she demonstrated an outstanding performance in academics that laid her path to the institute of Paramedical Science where she was admitted to the X-ray Technician course and presently learning at VIVO Health Care skill centre and learning modules of the course.
Despite of her personal suffering she never gave up for work but single-mindedly work to improve the family socio-economic status. Belongs to a very poor family where Father works as a security Guard and earns an income of Rs 10,000 per month and mother, a house wife. Family struggles daily to get the ends meet in nurturing the family of 6 with meagre income.
Aanjana is also a state level Judo( Marshal arts) player and achieved several medals. In future, she wishes to take up a private job in the profession and improve her family economic status. Also, plans to further apply for government job as well. The effort Aanjana puts into her work is commendable and her sincerity is sure to reap her dividends in the future.
