For these 5 talented girls in Kenya, education is their only means out of poverty, yet their families cannot afford to take them past the 8th grade in school. Uneducated Kenyan girls are vulnerable to child marriage, early motherhood, poor health, and a life of continued poverty. Help these smart, aspiring girls stay in school by supporting Resurge Children East Africa today. Give them the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential.
Every child has the right to a safe, formal, quality education and access to lifelong learning. However due to a combination of factors, many girls are forced to leave school while others never have the opportunity to go in the first place. In Kenya, while primary education is free, secondary education remains costly and largely out of reach for many families, we are providing high school and university scholarships to girls with the greatest need and potential.
RCEA addresses the problem by providing eight years of scholarships, mentoring, and career development from high school through university to girls with the greatest need and potential. We truly believe supporting girl's education is the best way to help break the cycle of poverty of disadvantaged. By giving them the support and resources they need to achieve their full potential, our impact will be a lasting effect on those we help today and for generation to come.
RCEA has empowered more than 15 students through educational scholarships given primarily to disadvantaged girls. Through GivingTuesday, we have the potential to reach 20 girls! These scholarships make a difference in encouraging low-income families to keep their daughters in school and help them create better futures for themselves, their families and communities. As the economic barrier is removed, cycles of poverty will be broken for generations to come.
