Dear well-wishers’,
Greetings from Gram Vikas Trust (GVT)!
GVT believes that education is the main and key factor of today’s society. Without education a person cannot able to live, think or grow in his life. Education gives the wings to his dreams. The gift of education will make the tribal community to think and grow.
“Change is the heartbeat of growth.”
- Scottie Somers
If we talk about future, there will be numerous change will happen, in terms of technology, science etc. The half of the world will cope with these changes and will be able to live accordingly. But the half of the world will have to struggle with the changes, as these people are not equipped with education. We appreciate the efforts of government, as the education is free and compulsory, but till date many children are just getting the degree or just finishing their age appropriate learning, but actually they are not learning.
The community is the key, in some of the villages where community is strong, and thinks about the future they used to engage parents and children for better learning experiences. But in some of the villages parents are not aware about the importance of education, they do not take care of their children’s education and that is why the school is also not taking actions for teaching and learning in school.
GVT has tried to engage such parents and community, to make them understand about the importance of education, importance of regular attendance in school, role of parents in school and in children’s learning, role of principal and other government teachers etc, to realize that they have to move forward to make their children’s learning fruitful.
Keep this in mind GVT has started a campaign called “Vali Jagruti bethak” (Parents Awareness Meeting) in different faliyas (street) of the villages, where parents come together and thinks on the different issues related to education, and work on the same to make their children’s learning better. The village sarpanch, school principal and other key influential people of the village take lead in the meeting and try to find out the ways for change in education.
GVT has seen the difference in parents thinking and the improvement in children’s attendance in school, also their teaching and learning practices. The gift of education will help the children to fly.
