Hello Donors,
Regards from Gram Vikas Trust!
Now a days without education, there is nothing. If we talk about rural India, and especially about Bharuch, the local level labor work in companies, agriculture are not that much enough to live at least a simple life. Also the people of the rural Bharuch are not that much aware about the importance of education so from the generations they are not getting much education.
‘A good education is the greatest gift you can give yourself or anyone else’
- Mahtab Narsimhan
From the past experience Gram Vikas Trust (GVT) is trying to bridge the gaps of education, motivating parents to change their mind set and send children to school regularly, give preference to education, motivate children to learn, motivating teachers to give their best to improve the teaching-learning process in rural Bharuch, some material help to the needy children, bicycle support for long distance villages girls and other small efforts to change the rigid system.
To change the mind set of parents, children and teachers GVT is using different strategies. One to one meeting with parents, children and teacher whose children are not coming to school regularly, the parents who are not taking care of the children and send them to field, or some household work, if a child is not coming to school because of fear of teacher or school, “school chalen hum” (whistle program) in the morning to call all the children to school by some children leaders from different streets, street meeting on different issues by taking local level examples to motivate children and other simple strategies.
Till now GVT has organized in different village three street meeting, and the topics are importance of education, children learning process and regular attendance, role of parents in children’s education. All the meetings are designed very simple by taking some local level examples which can be connect to the parents very easily. And as a result GVT has seen many small changes in the daily routine of parents and children.
GVT is hoping for the best result for change, gifting education will change their life.
