Dear friends,
It has been about two years since we started this campaign. We thank you for the kind of support you have been extending us for this campaign as well as for other campaigns on GlobalGiving.
Your generosity helps us create a great impact on the lives of children who would have otherwise been resigned to a life of indigence.
We wish to share the story of one of the most promising children of Sphoorti - Ar. Ar is 17 years old boy who comes from a small village in Guntur. Ar's mother died of Tuberculosis when Ar was just 6. Ar joined Sphoorti in 2006 after one of our donors found out about the death of his mother.
Ar was one of the first few children of Sphoorti. Prior to joining Sphoorti, he never went to school.
Ar studied until STD X in a local english medium High School and went on to pursue STD XI and STD XII in a Junior College in Hyderabad. He secured 76% in his STD XII and through his academic record and extra-curricular activities, he got admission in Bhavan's Degree College, one of the premier colleges in Hyderabad. He is pursuing Undergrad in Math, Statistics and Computer Science.
Through your support, we are able to send him to the college even though the college fee is about $600 p.a. The College provides an excellent environment for Ar to receive quality education as we all opportunity to interact with students from various geographies and social backgrounds.
Ar has gained a lot of confidence and improved his social/soft skills. Together with good academic record and behavioral traits, we hope that he will succeed in whatever career he chooses.
Ar wishes to be a Statistician after his Undergraduate studies are over.
