Through this update, we wish to share details about our new initiative
Sphoorti provides long term relief and rehabilitation to about 100 girl children from vulnearable backgrounds. These children are in the age group 6-18. These children are studying in STD 1 - XII and some are in Degree Colleges pursuing Engineering, Law, Pharmacy and Commerce. All of them are either semi-orphans or complete orphans.
During the Covid19 First and Second waves, these children were repatriated to their legal guardians as per Government instructions. For more than a year, these children did not receive adequate attention regarding their food and hygiene. As a result, their nutrition levels dropped drastically and most of them have been found to be anaemic.
We wish to improve their health status by reinforcing their diet with highly nutritious food. In particular, we want to give them Groundnut-candies (Chikkis) and eggs thrice a week. The weekly requirement is Rs 35 per child. We request you to provide financial assistance for our Nutrition Program for the Girl Child for 12 months starting Dec 1 2021 to Dec 1 2022.
