On Saturday, 24 October, as part of Make a Difference Day at The Ideas Partnership’s AZURE Centre in Fushë Kosovë, children participating in our extracurricular activities had a special opportunity to spend time with our wonderful volunteers, listening to stories and reading books together.
The activity brought children and volunteers together around something simple yet powerful: a book. The children had the opportunity to listen to stories, explore books, read alongside volunteers, and share moments of curiosity, imagination, and discovery. Through these shared reading experiences, they were encouraged to develop their language skills, strengthen their confidence, express their ideas, and discover that reading can be both an enjoyable and inspiring experience.
For children, every new story opens a door to another world. Books allow them to explore new ideas, discover different perspectives, develop their creativity, and dream beyond the boundaries of their everyday experiences. Having someone read with them, listen to their thoughts, and encourage their questions can make learning feel more personal, meaningful, and fun. These moments also help children build positive relationships with adults who believe in their abilities and want to see them succeed.
But these opportunities are made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors.
The children who participated in this activity attend extracurricular activities through our Get a Kosovan Kid to School project. Thanks to the kindness and continued support of donors who contribute to this project, children can access additional learning opportunities that support their educational development, encourage their participation, and help them build the skills and confidence they need for the future.
For many children, access to educational support and enriching extracurricular activities can make a meaningful difference in their learning journey. These activities offer more than time spent outside the classroom. They provide opportunities to learn through play, explore new interests, develop social skills, strengthen friendships, and receive encouragement in a safe and supportive environment.
Together, we are doing more than sharing stories. We are helping children write their own brighter futures.
