This project helps 50 underprivileged children and youth in Ayapel, between 6 and 14 yeas, by providing educational opportunities. We establish a learning center, offer personalized tutoring, and mentorship programs to children and youth that are out of the education system or are lagging behind. By bridging the educational gap, we empower these children to overcome barriers and realize their full potential. we empower them to break the cycle of poverty through education.
The issue we aim to address is the educational disadvantage in Ayapel. Only 86.09% of children access primary education, 70.4% secondary education, and 39.08% for intermediate education. Unfortunately, only 14.5% of students who complete high school are able to pursue tertiary education. These statistics highlight the pressing need to improve educational opportunities and outcomes for children in Ayapel. This challenge negatively impacts their future prospects, perpetuating cycles of poverty.
Our project will address educational challenges in Ayapel by organizing targeted interventions for two groups. Grup 1 for children and youth with low academic performance, will have weekly 2-hour sessions in the mornings. Grup 2, for those out of school will have two 2-hour sessions weekly in the afternoons. By providing targeted support and tailored sessions for each group, we aim to address the specific needs of these children and youth, improve their academic performance, and reduce dropouts.
Our project in Ayapel aims to address the long-standing challenges of low educational attainment and limited access to education. By providing targeted support to children and youth, we empower them to improve their academic performance, breaking the cycle of poverty. This will have lasting effects on their families and the community, fostering better health, well-being, and economic opportunities. Through education, we create sustainable change, benefiting Ayapel for generations to come.
