After receiving training and supplies from the HKI, all 28 village model farms (VMFs) established food production activities. HKI and our partners at the Rural Development Association spent a lot of time providing assistance to these farms, so that they could set up their activities well. Together we established irrigation facilities, prepared the bed/plot system, constructed living-fences, produced vegetables and fruits, seeds, seedlings and saplings. In addition, we prepared the compost pit and organic pesticides, and constructed poultry houses for the chickens. Most of the VMFs have to produce vegetables, seeds, seedlings, and saplings and are selling their products to generate income.
