Sandy, who just turned 16, contacted us recently on Facebook messenger to let us know how things were going with herself and her family.
Her family joined our the Integral Heart Family school in 2012 and her sister and brother, Jackie and Gudiel, were students in our teens programs that ran from 2012 - 2017.
Sandy was studying in public high-school up to the end of last year but had to stop because both of her parents lost their jobs due to the pandemic. She told me that she does plan to pick it up again in 2022 and will graduate in four years.
In the family are mom and dad, her two sisters, Lesly 12 and Jackie 20, and her brother Gudiel 19. There are photos below of the family and her soccer team.
We wanted to share with you some photos and Sandy’s personal note below (translated to preserve the style of writing);

On behalf of my family, I want to give my sincere thanks to you and to all the staff of the Integral Heart foundation for the excellence in education and teaching that you provide to us young people. I also want to thank for the food baskets provided to my family as they were very helpful and sustained us nicely.
You planted in us the seed of hope and love project since we began with the foundation. We are grateful to you for this.
I also want to tell you that now I am in a youth soccer team and we represent Sacatepéquez [the local country where they live], I train three days a week and every Saturday as a team we face each of the departments of Guatemala. We are hoping to take a great victory and thus be able to achieve many goals and to be able to go very far representing Guatemala.
