EXECUTIVE SUMMARY.
During community otreach works by a team of volunteers from Integrated Agricultural Association (I.A.A) in 2022, the volunteers came across 3 Orphans from a family of 6 children who lost their father 4 years ago and are under the care of their mother who is just a subsistent farmer. The children were in a deplorable condition trying to survive on their own with little support from the mother. Through findings from the children and neigbors, I.A.A discovered that the eldest son has been suffering from growth since he was 5 years and now he is 15 years and all of them were struggling to pay a room to access education, but access to quality education, health and nutrition were identified as critical challenges given that there was no financial resources neither they had any support to access these needs. I.A.A pledged to fund and surgery for the one affected by growth and fund the education all the three of them from primary 1-to-6. The overall goal was to give hope to these children by improving their health and well-being through a sponsorship, and to improve mental health through psychosocial support and counselling.
IMPACTS.
On the 17th of January 2023, I.A.A sent a team of volunteers who divered educational items to the 3 children such as exercise books, pens, rulers and school shoes. These items are expected to take the children through the remaining 2022/2023 academic year, which will make them stay in school and improve their learning outcome.
CHALLENGES.
The children are in urgent need of food to keep them fit for the education as well as healthy. There is an urgent need to fund a surgery for the one who have been suffering with growth for 10 years now. I.A.A needs $5000 as soon as possible to help and ameleorate the living conditions of these children, but it is difficult to achieve this goal given that the organization does not have enogh financial resources to address these needs.
WAYFORWARD.
Integrated Agricultural Association (I.A.A), will remain consistent and focussed on its mission, increase fundraising efforts and continue mobilizing financial and material resources for this project both locally and globally. I.A.A needs to raise $5000 in the next 3 months to successfully execute this project and a donation of any amout to this project will go a long way to give hope to these vulnerable children by supporting education, health, nutrition and clothing.
