Chhunny, a 45 years old mother from Kampong Cham province, suffers from unknown diabetes before treated at the Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE (SHCH). Chhunny married to Sambo and has two daughters. All were married with two kids. Her elder daughter got daily income from gardening and cleaning. She earns about 5 US dollars per cleaning and grass cropping (this depending on an appointment). Chhuny is a housewife and she looks after their grandchildren.
Last month before arriving at the hospital, Chhunny got a fever and dizziness. Then she suddenly lost consciousness. Her family started to cry as they feel that Chhunny would pass away on the way to SHCH. At SHCH, a doctor sent her directly to our emergency department. Her glucose was very high during emergency care.
She awake after 72 hours. Her husband smiles and feel hope that she is awake. He said “last two days I feel very hopeless and I thought my wife would leave me. But because of the good care of SHCH staff, my wife’s life was saved. It is a big gift to me. I cannot find enough words to say thank you to donors who support SHCH and a patient like my wife. I wish you all good health and please continue to support other patients at SHCH.”
We are happy to see Chhunny can speak again and do any activity by herself. She is going back home to see her children and grandchildren.
