Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE provides 100% free healthcare to over 1,500 Cambodians experiencing poverty each year. Your donation will directly fund treatment costs for these patients - from surgery to diabetes management to breast cancer treatment.
The lowest-income Cambodians hold the highest burden of illness in the country. They are also the most marginalized and vulnerable in the face of illness. When these families become ill they are faced with high fees at low-quality clinics, and they often go into debt to fund ineffective treatment or use harmful traditional medicine. At SHCH, 68% of patients earn less than $5 per day and more than half travel in from under-served rural areas with no safe healthcare options.
SHCH provides health services on a sliding scale, at a cost that our patients can afford. For those who can't afford to pay anything at all, our services are completely free. Each year more than 1,500 patients receive 100% free healthcare at SHCH. An additional 45,000 patients visit the hospital using the sliding scale system.
When patient fees are eliminated for those in need, more patients can access care without financial burden. This reduces delays in treatment and allows early intervention for chronic illnesses. That means better health outcomes, long-term cost savings, and a healthier Cambodia. Our patients can return to work, support their families, and create a better future for their children and grandchildren. We are ending the poverty cycle of illness in Cambodia. We need your help to do it!
