Mrs. Tep, a 50 years old mother suffers with diabetes for 8 years from Svay Rieng Province. Tep and her husband are farmers. They have one son, 19 years old. Their son gave up his studying for 3 years ago due to no income. Their son works as a construction worker and earn only 7 dollars per day to support a whole family. Tep's husband plants vegetable and sweet potatoes for daily food while Tep is unable to do any work.
Tep started to lose weight, fatigue, caught, eat less and unable to sleep well. Her husband sent her to a hospital in town. After did blood test the result has shown that she has got diabetes. Tep followed up with doctor and took medicine as doctor prescribed but her symptom was just better for a short time. The doctor there introduced her to The Sihanouk Hospital Center of HOPE (SHCH), where she can access with free care. After arrived to SHCH, a doctor decided to admit her at the hospital because of illness and she is in bad condition that is needed a proper care by clinical staff. Tep stay at SHCH for a week until the doctor say “yes, you are well now”.
Tep and her family were very happy to go home.
“I have nothing to give you but I would love to use my 10 fingers greeting you all and I am thankful to donors, doctors and staff who supports and taking care me with love day and night until I recovery. Without your support and care I could not recovery and unable to walk back home to see my family.” Said Tep.
