Introduction
Children that lack adequate vision and hearing, fall behind in school, often resulting in a lack of income and are also subject to bullying. By tackling the root cause of their learning difficulties, your donation will not only provide children with the ability to live life to the fullest but reduce inequalities they face on a daily basis and include them in the development process.
Report
Due to lack of funding or access to resources such as hearing aids, glasses or treatment centres, children are facing learning difficulties and are often bullied due to the lack of education and awareness around the issue. We aim to educate communities and provide resources to children in need. We have managed to raise $695 for this project so far.
Thank you for your support

Report
Families are often unaware of their challenges making it hard to reach out for help or solutions. The stigma associated with any sort of impairment is another reason why families often don't ask for help or report it to the schools. Many families also lack the funding and access to resources to deal with the impairment, leaving children to struggle. This project aims to provide free testing and follow up support to these families, we managed to test over 120 children in a local township this quarter. A donation of $25 will provide glasses to one child who needs them.

Dear Supporters,
WE HAVE DONE IT!!!!!
I am so excited that after many months of active fundraising, promotion and talking to people across South Africa we have enough cash and resources to run our very first outreach event and it's booked for August!
We have partnered with our local partner that will be bringing professional staff into our school to test 185 children's eye sight on site. Many parents and families are told by the school that they should get their children's eyes tested but work commitment, low income means they can't afford the time off work and they can't afford the bus ride to the city. It is also unlikely if the child fails the test they will get glasses as the family simply can't afford glasses and food comes first in the priority of the family.
This event is going to be life-changing, we will be running 1:1 testing sessions throughout the day for all the children and any student that fails will be taken by the team to an optician for further testing. As part of the day event we will also be running fun activities and a puppet show for the younger children to promote healthy sight.
While we have enough funds to run this event and to test all 185 children the funds are still very limited if many of the children do need glasses. While we have the funds to take them to the optician as of now we only have enough funds for 1 pair of glasses so this is our last request before the event, if you can please share our project with your network as any further donations between now and August will go towards the glasses fund for those children that really need it.
Watch this space for photos and exciting updates after our event and I want to thank you and everyone that has helped us launch this project.
Thank You
