20 voces en lucha por Puerto Rico (20 Voices on the Frontline for Puerto Rico), a project by the Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico and its FORWARD Puerto Rico Fund, documents how twenty organizations and foundations impacted some of the island’s most vulnerable communities after Hurricane Maria. Their stories of hope and strength exemplify how the nonprofit sector was able to reinvent itself by creating new initiatives, projects and alliances to help the Puerto Ricans during the emergency and beyond.

Today is the one year anniversary of Hurricane Maria’s devastation of Puerto Rico. I wish to take this moment to thank you on behalf of the Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico and the local community based organizations whose invaluable work we were able to support with your generous contribution.
An anniversary provides an opportunity to remember and to reflect. We have been doing a lot of both in the past few days. Memories of our collective and individual experiences and losses are still fresh. The recognition of the long road ahead is also clear, as is our commitment to continuing to move Puerto Rico forward.
The extraordinary work of our nonprofit sector in addressing the needs of the most vulnerable has been well recognized. Your support helped to make that possible.
Over the past year, we have developed a set of mechanisms — newspaper coverage, short reports, videos, photographs— to keep you informed of the work supported and about Puerto Rico’s long term challenges. We invite you to let us know what you would like to read and learn about as we continue on the steep path to recovery.
Sincerely,
Janice Petrovich

20 voces en lucha por Puerto Rico (20 Voices on the Frontline for Puerto Rico), a project by the Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico and its FORWARD Puerto Rico Fund, documents how twenty organizations and foundations impacted some of the island’s most vulnerable communities after Hurricane Maria. Their stories of hope and strength exemplify how the nonprofit sector was able to reinvent itself by creating new initiatives, projects and alliances to help the Puerto Ricans during the emergency and beyond. Starting September 1st and until the anniversary of the storm’s destruction, we'll post a daily video showcasing leaders from the non-profit sector telling their stories.
You can find them on the Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube pages of the Red de Fundaciones de Puerto Rico.
