90% of a child's brain is developed in their first three years. We attend 180 families to achieve their children's optimal development by working with the child and his caregivers. Neuroscience affirms that a child that experiences family violence and does not have positive interactions with adults, suffer irreversible damage resulting in a smaller brain size for life. De Cero A Tres is building with families of communities in Mexico, a future with hope and equal opportunities for their children
Children in poor communities of Mexico often spend their first years in neglected environments. Parents do not engage emotionally until the age of three when most of their brain has grown, experiencing brain lost, afecting their future for life. Neuronal connections develop in early childhood depending on positive and healthy interaction with adults. Acting during the first three years is crucial, period of great risks and opportunities to impact the future of children. Acting after is too late.
We work with caregivers to acquire positive parenting skills and therefore improve development of children under 6 years old. It is essential to influence the capabilities of adults, not simply provide information. Parents assist with their children to our Maternal and Child Center for interactive sessions to connect with their kids. It is crucial to work at home to change parenting practices and avoid violent and stressful environments for their children, promoting a healthy development.
We work under a preventive methodology that seeks to reduce the risks of school failure, addictions, delinquency, unemployment, violence and the circle of injustice which they live in . Parents creating an affective bond with their children will open a world of possibilities to the infant so that they can have a more prosperous, healthy life with greater possibilities of success and development.
