It is not always easy to explain why FUEL is so extremely important following a major disaster. You understand it.

You know FUEL SAVES LIVES!

Right now we are in Puerto Rico giving away free fuel to thousands of victims of Hurricane Maria. Fuel Relief Fund has been providing fuel for generators and vehicles in areas hardest hit by the eye of the storm (Loiza, Punta Santiago, Arecibo, Barceloneta). We also gave away diesel to several elderly care facilities in the area in order for them to run their generators. An additional team of volunteers just arrived to provide free fuel in multiple locations and thus;

• Lights are coming back on, providing safety and security
• Water treatment plants can operate and people receive clean drinking water
• Other NGO’s vehicles run, so they can perform life-saving duties
• People can cook food again
• Refrigerators will work so people can keep the few provisions they can obtain longer
• Medications stay cool and medical equipment can run
• Power tools can operate, so people can dig out of the rubble and rebuild
• Cars can operate to make doctor and hospital visits, check on survivors, and get to work
• Mobile phones can be charged
