Several thousands of citizens of Magwi County thronged various parts of the County to commemorate four years since it seceded from Sudan.
At Magwi Freedom Square, various speakers made strong calls for peace and reconciliation among residents in the new nation.
Magwi, the most tranquil region, is one of the Counties blessed with peace since the outbreak of conflict in the country in mid-December 2013.
Thanks for your sustained donations to plant fruit seedlings in South Sudan project.
Hope Ofiriha added your gifts to cash donations from another source to buy fifteen Indian Mango seedlings, and twenty Eucalyptus seedlings ready for planting.
The project distributes the seedlings to the families with enthusiastic interest to plant fruit trees to produce nutritious food for a next generation and boost a local economy in a near future.
The insecurity is our primary concern although Magwi remains a peaceful County since social unrest broke out in 2013. We are reaching Omilling despite these challenges.
The project will be sending you a new field update after a quarter, to let you the progress your gift is impacting from the ground.
