Hope Ofiriha wishes you a Merry Christmas, and a prosperous new year!

Thanks for your recent generous gift to Give Fruit and a Greener Environment project.

There is no political agreement reach between the government and SPLA in opposition despite the IGAD sponsored peace talks in Adisababa since the alleged coup. South Sudan is getting worse every day, and hope for peace is weak as the clashes continue to take place in Jonglei state between the regime and rebel forces. In spite of this, HO continues to work with local communities in this very abnormal circumstances.

Your money together with contributions from others had enable a project to buy 50 banana seedlings, 20 jack fruit seedling, and 25 eucalyptus seedlings. These seedlings were distributed to the families who are interested to plant tree seedlings to protect the natural forest and fruit trees to provide nutritious food for future generations. Few seedlings were planted in a treebank, a piece of land that was donated to the project by the Traditional Authority .

These fruit seedlings will benefit Omilling in the future, when with the right management and proper care they will produce enough fruit to eat, and sell to make a profit. We also believe the project will attract commercial activity in the area that will boost the local development.

In the next quarter, a new field update will be posted so that you get to know the positive changes your contribution is making from the ground.
