On 10th July 2026, CFI will host a grand opening ceremony for our new home. We will celebrate the completion of the classrooms, office, library, kitchen, soccer field and volleyball court. This also marks 17 years of accomplishments in supporting over 3,000 of the most vulnerable children with access to basic needs, quality education and empowering youth to become leaders in their community. Funding will allow us to expand the landscaping, sports facilities, and build solar panels.
Help turn our newly constructed buildings into a sustainable home! Without mature trees, there aren't enough shady areas for students and parents to meet with their social workers, teachers, or friends. Students this year were bussed to a nearby pool to learn life saving techniques for water safety, but don't yet have enough practice. And finally, the buildings require significant power from the main electric grid which leads to frequent power cuts, is expensive, and unsustainable.
This project will transform CFI into an environment that is safe, green and supports the needs of the community. Bamboo huts with benches will be built to create welcoming areas for staff to meet with each other, families, and children. A swimming pool will be built to continue the anti-drowning program for years to come. And finally, solar panels will allow our computer labs for students and air conditioners to run even in +40 degree Celsius temperatures without using fossil fuels.
This will foster a positive learning environment by developing children physically, emotionally and socially, which will encourage leadership and environmental stewardship. It will strengthen community ties, allowing for future growth such as a community vegetable garden, bee farming and a community recreational space. To ensure sustainability, teachers will integrate environmental learning to promote ownership from a young age, instilling in them the value to take care of the space.
