Dear supporters,
As we prepare to conclude this GlobalGiving campaign, we want to sincerely thank you for helping us launch an important first step toward expanding access to mental health information for vulnerable women in Rwanda.
With your support, together with our local partner AVEGA Agahozo, we were able to pilot the use of audio-based educational content delivered through microSD cards in both rural and urban communities. Initial field testing confirmed that the technology worked reliably and that the content was easily accessible for users.
While implementation progressed more slowly than originally anticipated due to external coordination and logistical challenges, the pilot phase helped demonstrate the potential of this low-tech, community-based approach for reaching women with vital mental health and wellbeing information.
Most importantly, the project has now attracted follow-up institutional support. Building on the lessons and groundwork established during this initial phase, a larger-scale continuation project will move forward through the Rwanda–Rhineland-Palatinate partnership together with AVEGA Agahozo and Audiopedia Foundation.
The next phase aims to expand the initiative significantly through the distribution of thousands of microSD cards and QR-code based access points, combined with community discussions, awareness activities, and locally adapted audio content on mental health, psychosocial wellbeing, and prevention of non-communicable diseases.
Although this GlobalGiving campaign is coming to an end, the vision behind it continues to grow - and your early support helped make that possible.
Thank you again for believing in the power of accessible knowledge and community-driven mental health support.
With gratitude,
Felicitas
