Dear Friends and Supporters,
At NHSD, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn and grow, no matter what circumstances they were born into. Thanks to your generous support, that belief is becoming reality for hundreds of children in Islamabad, Pakistan.
We are currently educating up to 600 students, both boys and girls, providing quality education from primary through high school level. These are children of daily wage earners, domestic workers, street vendors and unemployed parents. Children who, without your help, would have had no access to education at all.
This quarter our students have been busy. They attended interactive classroom sessions at the NHSD Community Library, learned computer skills at our IT Institute, took part in outdoor team-building activities at Kaus-e-Kazah Technical Training Institute, and enjoyed vocabulary and literacy games led by our teachers. Seeing them so engaged and excited about learning is something we never take for granted.
One moment stood out for us this quarter. A student, the daughter of a daily wage laborer, stood up before her class and read aloud in English for the very first time in her life. The pride on her face said everything. Her mother was watching from the doorway and could not hold back her tears. This is what your support looks like in real life.
