A Summer of Impact!

Dear Friend,

This summer, our teams in Nepal and the UK have been hard at work, raising funds, working on various projects and creating impact for our students and their families in Panauti.

Our Early Years Childhood Development project is still in full swing. We were extremely grateful to receive funding from The Waterloo Foundation and other charitable trusts to enable us to train early years teachers. Our facilitators from the University of Kathmandu train these early years teachers to a level where they feel equipped and confident in their classrooms. We support them so they feel valued members of a school team and wider community. This leads to engaging and impactful classrooms, resultingin confident children, who are developmentally on track and can transition smoothly into primary education. Once the training is complete, these teachers will receive regular refresher training, support and feedback. We will support them as they go on to share their knowledge with other teachers.

We have so much impact from this project already! If you follow us on social media, you will have seen our photos and videos of bright, engaging classrooms, with children taking part in song, dance, art, play and other fun methods of learning! We've included some photos here, but please do visit our Facebook or Instagram to see more. Learning should be fun - and thanks to this project, teachers have the confidence and skills to nurture their youngest students.

In the UK, Aimee and Joey have been hard developing our shop. We recently received a wonderful shipment of new stock from Kathmandu. It includes beautiful new felt goods, including crocodiles, yaks, forest deer and engaging finger puppets for children! We also have a gorgeous new range of handmade mugs, our usual selection of scarves and ponchos and much more.

We had a successful day at Lymington Market at the beginning of August and plan to visit again on the 30th. We've also booked in several Christmas stalls, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the dates. All profits from the shop go directly back to the charity.

If you prefer to shop from the comfort of your home, don't forget about our online shop! We'll have a new stockroom available soon, which will make it easier to store, package and send out the goods.

And finally, we're beyond excited to introduce Freedom to Roam, our ethical and positive tourism venture! Our first 14-day tour of Nepal begins on the 29th March 2026, and we'd love for you to join us. Explore Kathmandu’s spiritual sites, connect with local communities in Panauti, hike through the hills of Dhampus, relax in Pokhara and experience wildlife safaris in Chitwan.

Designed for conscious travellers, this Nepal tour package offers guided exploration, local engagement and unforgettable moments in the Himalayas. Led by Joey, and our Roam Operations Manager, Paul, it's set to be an unforgettable adventure you just won't be able to get anywhere else. All profits will go directly to the charity, helping us to do even more for our students. See below for more details.

As ever, thank you for your ongoing support. We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer!

With warmest wishes,

Aimee, Joey, SK, Sarina and the entire FtL team
